We have developed a four step approach:

Step 1. Developing an operating business plan. This is a working document that serves to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of a company and thus provides a guide to the action required to develop the proposition to a point where it is attractive to investors. Typically this process throws up the following type of issues:

• Is the management up to the job of creating and managing a fast growth business
• Is the IPR sufficiently well developed and protected
• Is the product ready for a launch
• Is there a coherent vertically targeted marketing strategy
• Is the business model structured correctly and pitched at the appropriate level

Step 2. Implementing Change. The next task is to help the management to address these key issue. This can involve:

• Identifying and helping to recruit key members of the management team
• Assisting with developing a marketing strategy
• Providing contacts in organisation that could become a strategic partner
• Helping restructure the internal organisational structure

Step 3. Referenceable Clients. One of our most important roles is helping companies win referencable clients. We do this through our relationships with a wide range of companies from corporate venturers to smaller clients companies. We use our reputation as a way to open the door for early stage businesses.

Step 4. Raising Funding. When we believe that the company is ready we assist in the process of raising funding. This involves:

• Preparing a business plan suitable for investors
• Providing contacts into the funding community whether private individuals or institutions
• Assisting in the negotiation process
